Every new day provides you with a new opportunity to make progress toward your goals. If you are ambitious and have big goals, you’ll probably often encounter thoughts that try to convince you there’s not enough time to finish, so why bother? When those thoughts pop up, just do something to get started. Getting started is better than getting nothing.

Life is just a series of events. We can fill them with action or lack of action. Each of the wasted and inactive moments in your life add up. Without focus, they will add up to nothing. I often hear others claim, “I wish I had more time.” In reality, we all have the same amount of time. More than likely, those wishing for more time would probably procrastinate, knowing how very much extra time they had.
Truth be told, the limits on our time are probably a blessing in disguise. They can help us make today count, rather than let today go by. Those time limits can motivate us to use our time efficiently in ways that are meaningful, valuable, and move us toward our goals.
Each and every day is filled with time, and it consistently and continually passes by. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet arrived. We can not re-use yesterday’s minutes, nor can we borrow from tomorrow’s. Today’s minutes will continue to march on. There’s nothing we can do to stop them, but there is a great deal we can do to make today count.
