Optimize Your Blog and Get It Ranked – The Three Step Process

Learning how to optimize your blog and get it ranked on the search engines will require three steps.

• First, we need to select a keyword phrase that gets a lot of searches and does not have too many competing websites. If the competition is too strong it will be very difficult to get on the first page.
• Next we will write our post taking into account factors that will make our page attractive to the search engines. These are things we can control on our page.
• Third, we will get outside websites pointing to our page, commonly called backlinks.

Choose the Right Keyword

Keyword research is vital to getting ranked. Keywords are those terms that people type in to look for information.  When selecting your keywords, you’ll want to know  how much traffic they are getting, the amount of competition and the commercial value of your keywords. Then you can decide what keywords to optimize your website for. This can be a very time consuming process, but there is a tool that makes it much easier and faster. Once you have chosen your keywords, it is time to create your post or content.  Writing to get your page ranked is quite different than just writing an article to be read. I use the wordpress plug-in called SEOPressor to do this. This plugin will monitor your writing every step of the way and tell you exactly what you need to do to optimize your content for your keywords.

Creating Backlinks

Now that you have your post written and optimized for SEO, it’s time to create links pointing to your site (backlinks). As a general rule, the more backlinks you have, the more likely you are to rank on the first page and stay there. Writing articles on other sites is a great way to get quality links pointing back to your website. On most article hosting sites, you can create two Anchor text links with your keywords in them in the authors resources box.  Create one link pointing to your post and the other pointing to the home page of your blog. You can then use an article spinner and submitter to  blast thousands of versions of the article to different article directories creating  thousands of backlinks to your site. Another option to optimize your blog is to submit your content to a syndication platform like Tribe Pro and get your content shared all across the social networks. This strategy is relatively new and requires the collective efforts of a group. But this is a powerful way of creating high authority back links to your site without having to create any additional content. All you do is agree to share the work of the others in the group.
